Well I'm finally finished, and I must say I've thoroughly enjoyed this book. An excellent read that came from an unlikely place, a suggestion to Sean from someone on the dorkboard. But the allure of architecture, history, the gilded age, and ghastly true murder from what was our first true sadistic mass murderer lead to a delightful novel. It took me far too long to finish, but I'm thrilled now that I have. Its a story of H.H. Holmes, the first "serial" killer our country new.

A man I only knew from <3 supernatural <3, but whom certainly carved his place in history. But its not all macabre, its also a book of what beauty and accomplishment men can achieve.

In 1893 Chicago hosted the world's fair. Achievment was abound, and the world was changed.

I only wish I could have been there. Erik Larsen seems to tell this story effortlessly. Although the notes alone, tell you otherwise. Its grandiose, a magical story, and you can learn so much.....because its all true. Anyway, as you might be able to tell, I highly recomend it.
