Turkey day, crafty behavior, and oh so much more

Last week was a whirlwind of activity. I worked through the holiday, but still managed to whip up a super yummy Thanksgiving meal. (Although I do have to thank Joye for the fruit salad, as good as ever! and something I didn't have to fix myself.) As an added bonus Nic and Joe hung out for festivities, that's code word for stuffing your face, which was awesome!! It felt really good to have good food and spend time with my brother. We even got the chance to rock the speaker phone and work Miss Vicatator into our day. That kid just needs to face facts and get her butt out here. (Boy, I really need to work on being more direct don't I, wink wink.) Still I'm hopeful she might make it out for Chrismukkah, despite my having to work. I'm thinking of doing a little shindig for New Years, because if you haven't noticed the theme that is the only holiday I don't work this year. So all in all, turkey day rocked hard. We also had act ii of turkey day on Sunday. We headed out to Brett and Katie's. It was another opportunity to eating way too much, and neither Sean, Lucy or myself passed that up. We left full and happy. Everyone was there and even hung out for a bit after the gorging, which was cool. Its nice to have holidays that aren't stressful, but a source of fun and joy. Low key is the only way to go.
I've got work this week, and my big test (BLEK) on Wednesday. I should do fine, but its the fact that its looming over me and I've got to get it done, and so soon and blah de blah de blah.....just send me good thoughts. Of course the other thing looming lately is the car. I gotta get our stuff together so we can get another one sooner, hopefully, rather than later. I really like the stratus, but every time I turn around it needs more money sunk into it. I don't know, it will all work out in the wash, but gah getting there stinks sometimes.
On a lighter note, in my productive mode I also managed to finish off Nic's present.
My Husband the model

Its a super cute scarf, that I'm kinda sad to give up, but I think she'll really like it.
I also am all but finished with one of the two ornaments I"m making to give away at the Cope family party as the cheap-o gift.
Kristen is helping me out by donating some batting, otherwise I'd be stuck with a humongous bag of it that I can't afford. For that, you know beyond the general awesomeness, hooray Kristen! Continuing on my crafty streak I'm thinking of making gingerbread cupcakes for our game night next weekend. I can't wait have fun and play our card game Gloom. Its super fun and funny to boot. Plus I think my taunting of cupcakes to Mindy is kinda cruel, so I can sneak a few over to her and make her day. Because baked goods always make the day. (hehehe I'm such a fat kid, well that and I watch Ace of Cakes too often.) Still game night with cupcakes sounds like an excellent way to spend a Saturday to me.
I'm reading Devil in the White City....so good you should do as Reading Rainbow suggests and "check it out!"
